Geology News was created in early 2005 in order to provide a central place on the internet to find out about all sorts of geology related news and research. While there were a few sites at the time dedicated to providing geology related news, I felt they weren’t what I was specifically looking for.
Now in 2008, there are dozens and dozens of websites and blogs (the “geoblogosphere”) related to the earth sciences and geology. And a large majority of them are fascinating to read. It’s an exciting time in the world of geology and geo-blogging.
This site also acts as sort of a forum for discussion, allowing users to discuss news related topics, along the lines of Slashdot and Metafilter.
