Asteroid Impact Video
You’ve probably seen this video by now, since it’s been posted all over the internet the past few days. It’s a pretty interesting video done by the Discovery Channel of an asteroid smacking into Earth.
Still, how realistic is this? One side of the asteroid is melted, on fire as it’s approaching Earth. Is this from tidal heating? For an asteroid on a collision impact with Earth, there doesn’t seem like there’d be enough time for tidal heating to affect it.
Ah well. Anyway, it’s a well done video. Sit back and enjoy it! Or hide under your desk.
