Happy Thanksgiving!

2008 November 27
by Dave Schumaker

Apologies for the slow posting (and the weird fiasco with my USGS feed). I’m away for the holiday! I just want to wish my fellow Americans a Happy Thanksgiving and seasons greetings and well wishes to all those around the world (especially those in Mumbai, our thoughts and prayers are with you).

In celebration of this holiday, I give you the following image.

Update: Amazing. As soon as I posted this, I checked the latest feeds from the Geoblogosphere and noticed that Rebecca at Dinochick Blogs, posted the same graphic!

What was the “weird” issue with your USGS feed? Which feed was it and is it still an issue? Let me know, I work on many of those feeds and just want to make sure everything is still coming through.

    Thanks

Scott – Thanks for the reply. Everything seems fine now. It might have been an issue with a plugin I’m using, that reposts content from the USGS Newsroom. I had the same article/press release posted about 3 times in a row on here.

I think it’s an issue with the plugin rather than the USGS RSS feeds since everything in the RSS feed looks fine (each article is only posted once).

    Anyway, things look fine now.

@Dave: Good to know. Well, if you every have any problems in the future and you think it might be the feed, just email us (use the link at the bottom of the usgs.gov site) and we’ll look into it.

    Thanks again.
