28 years ago today, Washington state’s Mount St. Helens catastrophically erupted, becoming the largest volcanic eruption in the lower 48 states.

THIS IS A REALLY GOOD PICTURE OF THE VOLCANO…EVEN THOUGH EVERY TIME I SEE THE PIC I THINK OF MY FAMILY BEING THERE WHEN IT EXPLODED. MY MOM WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD…SHE WAS LUCKY TO MAKE IT OUT OF THERE ALIVE.
