Geology Picture of the Day - Alluvial Fan in the Pamirs

Posted on Saturday 3 May 2008 by Dave Schumaker

I figure since there is an unofficial blog carnival going on this weekend (see for example posts at Looking for Detachment, Clastic Detritus and The Dynamic Earth), I figured I’d get in on the action myself with a geology picture of the day.

Of course this picture isn’t of Death Valley, my apologies folks! This picture was taken in the Pamirs, located in Central Asia.
